Job description
Location: Houston Employment type: Direct Hire Source: PEG Staffing job board (Bullhorn job 4206) Plant Manager – Houston, TX We’re partnering with a well-established industrial manufacturing operation seeking a Plant Manager to lead a high-performing production facility in the Houston area. This role is responsible for driving day-to-day plant operations with a sharp focus on safety, quality, production performance, and financial oversight. If you’re the type who walks the floor before checking email, this will feel like home. What You’ll Own - Full accountability for plant operations, including production, safety, quality, and cost performance - Lead and develop production teams to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets - Drive continuous improvement across operations, including Lean initiatives and problem-solving (8D, root cause, etc.) - Oversee production scheduling, work order flow, and throughput optimization - Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions to improve performance - Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and internal quality systems - Lead daily operational rhythms (Gemba walks, production meetings, safety observations, etc.) - Manage staffing, performance reviews, and employee development - Maintain strong cross-functional communication with leadership and other departments What You Bring - Proven experience leading manufacturing or production operations at a plant or department level - Strong background in safety programs, quality systems (ISO preferred), and operational metrics - Hands-on leadership style—you’re comfortable being on the floor and in the details - Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis - Ability to manage teams, drive accountability, and build a performance-driven culture - Solid working knowledge of production systems, scheduling, and reporting tools - Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience leading operations at scale) What Sets This Apart - High-impact role with full operational ownership - Opportunity to influence culture, performance, and long-term plant success - Stable organization with strong demand and operational footprint If you’ve run a plant (or are ready to step into that level) and know how to balance people, process, and performance—this is worth a conversation.
