What You’ll Be Doing - Lead the preparation and review of multi-state corporate income and franchise tax filings. - Manage the full cycle of state tax compliance activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. - Oversee state income tax, sales/use tax, and franchise tax audits. - Coordinate quarterly estimates and extension filings. - Research state tax regulations and provide guidance on tax positions and compliance matters. - Support tax planning initiatives related to acquisitions, restructuring, and organizational changes. - Drive process improvements and automation efforts within the tax function. - Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to streamline tax reporting and apportionment processes. - Maintain strong internal controls and review procedures across compliance activities. - Mentor and lead a small team while fostering collaboration and accountability. What We’re Looking For - 5+ years of corporate tax experience with a strong focus on state and local taxation. - Experience working in complex corporate or financial services environments preferred. - Background managing or mentoring team members. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Ability to interpret tax regulations and apply them in a practical business setting. - Excellent communication and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required. - Master’s degree and/or CPA designation preferred. - Experience with corporate tax software and compliance platforms. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools. - Familiarity with Power BI, Power Query, Alteryx, or similar technologies is a plus.
